I have been going to the Mana Kai Maui for over 18 years. My grandfather was one of the first people to buy a Condo there. The Mana Kai Maui is an unbelievable place for a great price. The beach has warm white sand and is absolutely gorgeous. There is coral reef to your right as you enter the crystal blue ocean. The reef is swarming with life. If you go during the winter you will see dozens of humpback whales right off the coast. There are also hundreds of sea turtles that pop up out of the water. If you swim out far enough you are likely to see families of sea turtles eating seaweed under broccoli shaped coral. There are TONS of activities. I would recommend taking an Eco-Kayak tour of one of Maui's many nature preserves. That is definetly worth the money. Make sure to ask for a renovated room (some owners of the other condominiums do not want to pay for the renovation). The newly renovated rooms are absolutely immaculate and provide you with brilliant views of the ocean, sunsets, and islands in the distance. If you go to Mana Kai Maui you will never want to come home. That is the only drawback I can think of.

Awesome!! Didn't Want to Leave!!
I have just returned from my first trip ever to Hawaii and we were pleasantly surprised when we checked in for 4 days and 3 nights at the Mana Kai. We are a family of 5 so we had 2 rooms right next to each other (811A and 811B). The kids were in the B room which had a microwave, refrigerator and air conditioning, as well as a double size bed and couch. Oh and an awesome view of the ocean! We were in the A room (which was more of a condo like room than the B which was more of a motel type room...but neat for 3 teenagers anyways.) In the A room the owners spared no expense, they had very plush towels even. They even went so far as to keep boogie boards, mats and a pool raft in the closet for us to use. Even though there was no air conditioning because it is so windy in the afternoon there we just kept the door towards the beach open (there were screen doors) all the time and the ceiling fan on. We never got hot and it was always comfortable. The bedroom (with a king bed) went out to the lanai where there was a table that you could eat or relax and watch the sea. The kitchen was fully equiped (even had a dishwasher) I can not think of one thing that I missed while staying in that condo. In fact if I am ever blessed to be able to go back to Maui I hope to be able to stay in that room again. The condos even had a tour guide that was able to set you up on any kind of tour that you needed to go on. If you stay here I recommend buying your groceries at the Safeway as we learned that it was the cheapest grocery store there.
